What do you do when the world's gone mad?

What do you do when the world's gone mad?

Lately my heart, like all of you I'm sure, has been so heavy with sadness for the shit happening all around us. So many lives lost... the senseless shootings in the US, Bagdad bombings, terror attacks in France, now the Turkey coup. The deepening of sadness for me comes from how the information is handled, leaving everyone with fear for their own safety and belonging in the world they think they know.

We need beyond all to not allow the fear that is being broadly fed to take over our lives and make us invalids. If there ever was a time to be a warrior in the stance of being human, being kind, being heartful and mindful, it's now. We need to send love and healing to all the victims - and that's every human - for an awakening. Send love like we've never done it before, including to our own lives.  Awaken every ounce of gratitude that we can name. It alone will change history. We are not helpless and hopeless. Social media is filled with blame and urgency for justice to try and fill the void that the fear creates. The better part of us wants to make it right and stop the suffering but sadly we are influenced to see the suffering only of those we love and understand. Everyone outside of that are of no consequence. So the vicious cycle continues.

Vietnamese Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, who has seen plenty of senseless killings and unjust acts in his war torn country, remains an inspiration to me in these times. His teachings of being mindful include the best of humanity to the very core. He says that we all have within us the seed of all things and what grows is what is watered. It is that simple. These atrocities that we cannot imagine, like having the craze to strap bombs to one's body and blow up crowds or drive a truck into a celebrating group were watered out of suffering also. Can you imagine the suffering you would have to live to walk that path?

It’s time to get bigger than we’ve ever known in our hearts and intentions and send loving kindness to all the right and all the wrong for healing.  The power of our brilliant energy has a greater reach than you know. First to strengthen ourselves and from that expanded sense of peace and acceptance we gain an ability to project it to others.

I invite you to take 9 minutes and share with me this short Loving Kindness Meditation.

Stay strong in your power centre and most important, your heart centre.

With a lotus and a smile,

Gisele
