Marion Woodman left a powerful imprint on me with what she shared in a public talk years ago. She lays an invitation to differentiate 'to cure' with 'to heal'. To cure may save you from death and to heal will return you to wholeness.
One is rooted in fear and the other is rooted in heart. From my experience this last six months and the many people I've talked to, the idea of exploring our lives deeply and digging to the root of any dis-ease in the body is still an anomaly. North American medical approach prescribes for symptoms and again for the side effects from the first prescription. It is a slippery slope that takes us further away from healing.
What I am discovering is that many times we have multiple issues simultaneously and we don't know it as we stay so busy in our lives and mask little things. If we mask the symptom, we create a bigger mess. The spirit of our bodies (which incorporates the heart) is often trying to talk to us, perhaps point us to the trouble and promote change. In our convenient world anything that suggests change is overlooked until crisis hits.
In the unraveling of what may be the root of dis-ease in my body, I am discovering multiple layers of issues and healing them. It is so empowering to marry the root of dis-ease with the roots of nature. Life force and nature are extraordinary. Almost everything we need to unravel what ails us comes from the earth naturally and powerfully if you're willing to explore. Perhaps ask the questions. "How have I seen myself in the world, how do I want to see myself in the world?" "What's my nutritional intake and how do I detox?" How do I deal with emotional traumas as they show up?" Every question embraced with a mindful heart and determination will lead you to your vibrant life. Healing should be an unfolding filled with wisdom, beauty and gratitude.
There are now so many integrative medicine approaches to vibrant health and noninvasive accurate tests that can give us maps to get there. Imagine a health care system that will offer choices of holistic treatment. That road can only be paved by educating ourselves and articulating our requisitions. History is made this way.
Thank you for walking with me. Know yourself,
