Detoxing the mind
Detoxing the mind can be as simple as taking the opportunity to be truthful about what we live with, stories we tell ourselves and limitations we base our decisions on. When our heart and our head is aligned it's easier to see the things we can let go of to get closer to cultivating balance. Practicing self compassion is the first step?
I had a couple of days last week that were full of external beauty and yet the inner voice, the littlest me (that wanted to be boss) was steering me towards the cliffs of my limitations. If you have days like that, this poem is for you.
Last week I attended a yoga/meditation workshop here in the Burren region of Ireland with an amazing woman from Germany who has lived here for some time. She was asking for my card which I slipped on her table before leaving one day. The next day she told me that she had been following The Barber's Daughters for years and knows our work well. Such a small world. It made me smile.
Her talent was to always make coming back to the breath so intimate that you would feel divinity and nature weaving through you.
Be kind to yourself.
So Be It
As this day begins.. I surrender to open my heart’s door, challenge my ego, abandon the sparkle of worldly distractions, the prison of judgment, the brutal critic of I and commit to find courage to honour my soul, resurrect it’s purpose, find kindness with an inner lens to nourish and nurture the well. From only that state of being will light and stillness intertwine, propelling peace and calming through our nervous system and into the world around us. I love the “Detoxing your mind” writing..is it yours? which would not surprise me in the least.
Knowing you Gisele, has made my life more sacred, beautiful, and meaningful.
You move and act like poetry itself.
