What can you read in a face?

What can you read in a face?

Greetings from Ireland,

How are you? It's been a couple of weeks of not writing and I must say that I missed the Sunday morning communication with community.

The Ireland retreat is over and I've been perusing photos that have been sent from the others on retreat. When I look into these glowing faces I have to remind myself of the weight upon their shoulders when they arrived. We all carry so much responsibility and burdens, some that have never been addressed and often simply because we don't allow ourselves the time to dive into the wonder of being alive as the spirit we were born as.

People ask me how the retreat was. Whaoooo... it was a remarkable gift in time shared by 11. The days were full yet watered seeds of mindfulness, self care and kindness.  Beyond all the wonderful things  we did I was touched by the deep sharing, deep listening and deep caring. I think you can feel it in these pictures? It supports my belief in the power of retreats more than ever.

When we want to make changes in our lives, learn new ways to be, conquer obstacles or jump hurdles or heal, gift yourself a retreat. It will help kickstart that journey. Taking time away from our routine lives to look inward while feeling supported by community is an absolute gift. My retreats are not for everyone but there are different types of retreats all over the world and in your backyard with every imaginable focus.

Here are but a few moments of this retreat, August 2018..

I am going into a silent solitude retreat today and will resurface September 10th. Although I have done silent retreats before this is my first in solitude. I'll let you know how it goes but you can think of me entering this retreat with a heart bursting with love and gratitude.

If solitude strikes a cord for you, this is where I will be. They have 5 self contained hermitages dedicated to introspection, meditation and prayer south of Dublin. http://www.glendaloughhermitage.ie

Life is no brief candle for me. It's a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
