The Heads Down Generation generally refers to those born after the 80’s but I would say the majority of the population is affected by the lure of our devices. Look around you in public places. Everywhere, people are almost qualified in their lives by their connection to a world that lives in their phone. We are losing the ability to be connected with one another where we are. We are even losing the map to the heart of who we are. Depression and anxiety are on the rise. We are identifying with a digital world we have no empathetic connection to. It’s been an wonderful month so far in Rishikesh. My aspiration here was to do as little as possible. As an over doer this is a great task and not at all easy. Beyond attending satsangs (teachings) and meditation intensives, just being present with the vastness and colours of humanity in the mountains and on the Ganges is enough to change your life.

Auspicious times, exactly where we are

At any age there is not one of us that can assume that we will awaken the next day or what’s before us. But in this very moment we can all be still with our breath. As It synchronizes with the pulse of nature we can remind ourselves that we are beyond enough to co-create with unfolding miracles. How auspicious is that?
